Meet John Burnette... John has spent more than 25 years leading global teams in the technology world, working with clients around the world to solve complex problems and deliver results. Through that experience, he’s learned the importance of clear communication, follow-through, and always doing what he says he’ll do—values that also guide his work in real estate.
In parallel with his tech career, real estate has been one of John’s passions for over 20 years. He has bought, renovated, sold, and managed both long-term and short-term rental properties throughout Washington—from Seattle to Anacortes. Many of his projects have involved full remodels, where he’s personally handled everything from electrical and plumbing to finish carpentry. This hands-on experience gives him a unique ability to understand what drives a home’s value and how to make improvements that truly matter.
While John’s broker’s license is new, his real estate experience runs deep. Having lived through every phase of property ownership and renovation, he brings a seasoned, practical perspective to every client relationship. His approach is grounded, transparent, and focused on helping clients protect and grow their investments.
A Washington resident for more than 30 years, John and his wife—his most trusted partner—share a love for creating beautiful, functional spaces. Together, they combine craftsmanship and design to bring out the best in every home.
If you’re looking for a broker who combines real-world renovation experience, business insight, and a genuine commitment to doing right by his clients, John would love to help you reach your real estate goals.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
My favorite is family time. Playing games with the kids, watching movies, going on dates with my wife (when the kids make it possible!), dancing with my 7yr old daughter, skiing with my boys. I also like creating things: it can be a house project (small or major remodel) or setting up some new technology automation to feel like I'm working smarter.
What’s one thing people might be surprised to learn about you?
My dad encouraged me to get my first business license when I was 16, when I built my first (small) house. I've enjoyed working with real estate ever since.
Do you have a favorite local spot (restaurant, park, coffee shop, etc.) you love to recommend?
My family likes Lopez creamery! Also, any park that looks over the ocean - we have so many options for that!
What do you enjoy most about working in real estate?
I'm an engineer by training, and pretty analytical. I like matching people to the right house or project. Given all the house-hacking that I've done, I enjoy finding properties where my clients can either flex space into a MIL or FIL, or generate income (e.g., ADU) to offset a mortgage. It's such a great way to make things more cost effective, especially these days. You never know what's on the horizon so having flexibility, in my mind, is a huge win for people. When I can help a client, through creativity, get into a better home with more upside than they originally thought, that's my favorite part.
