HISTORY

Sedro-Woolley has deep roots in the early development of Washington’s logging and railroad industries. The city quickly became a major center for timber and rail transportation, serving as a gateway to the North Cascades and eastern Skagit County. Known historically as the "Gateway to the North Cascades," Sedro-Woolley has preserved much of its frontier charm and is proud of its blue-collar heritage.
